Procedure for School Closure
Occasionally, due to adverse weather or other extraordinary circumstances, we have no option other than to close the school in the interest of safety of students and staff. We realise this puts additional pressure on families and will only do this where absolutely necessary. If we need to close the school for any reason we will try to inform families at the earliest opportunity. However, it it not always possible to give advance notice and decisions about closure sometimes need to be made with little warning. The procedure for school closure is as follows:

The Headteacher will make a decision to close the school at the earliest opportunity FOLLOWING DISCUSSIONS WITH sen TRANSPORT

Parents/carers will receive a message via SCHOOL GATEWAY APP (it is therefore essential you have downloaded the app and we have your up to date contact details).

Information about the closure will be posted on the school website as soon as possible and families are recommended to check this throughout the day for updates.

Please be aware that if you ring school there may not be any one available to take your call.

Should the closure continue into a second day, parents and staff will receive another message VIA THE SCHOOL APP about this. If you do not receive a message , you can assume the school will be open as usual the following day.
